Drug Pipeline |
|
There has been a lot of activity in the last few years. In the last few weeks alone there has been 2 new drugs in the news.
Jazz Pharmaceuticals'
application to use
sodium oxybate (Xyrem)
for Fibromyalgia was denied due to fears of abuse. The drug is chemically similar to GHB, a date rape drug.
Also this month, the FDA began considering
Cymbalta,
a popular anti-depressant, as a Fibromyalgia treatment. With more research we hope to have many more treatment options for
Fibromyalgia in the future.
